Note: I've never really participated in a game like this before so I don't know exactly how you want me to do the Diary Room sessions, but if it is okay with you I thought I'd make one post per round towards the beginning of the week and just modify it instead of waiting to post all of my comments at once at the end of the week. If this doesn't work for you for some reason, please let me know! Also, if I am doing this wrong or anything just get in touch with me and tell me what I should do differently. Thanks!
Day 0:
So even though the game hasn't technically started yet, that doesn't mean that I have not already formed opinions on some of the people based on the limited interaction I have had with them so far -- but then again, I usually find it hard to change my first impressions of people. Right now it seems like Jun is being slightly annoying, and although I doubt she'll be the first go I think she should be careful or else her abrasive personality will probably earn her a few votes to evict -- I know I already want to. At this rate the only way Jun would win the game is if it really was the "crackhouse edition" that she joked about on her first day here.
On the other hand, all of my other impressions have been completely positive. I've actually started to get close to Natalie, and we've basically already agreed that we are going to try to work together somewhat -- even if it just for the first part of the game. Natalie kind of led me to believe that she is pretty experienced, though, so even though at this point I trust her I still feel like I have to be weary about exactly what I say to her and how I handle our potential alliance. It's better than nothing, though, and certainly better than any kind of partnership with Jun.
Something else that I have to point out is Keesha. Although we haven't talked yet, I definitely have a strong first impression of her. I can tell that she might be kind of rough around the edges, but at the same time I feel some kind of attraction towards her (even if it is just friendship) so I guess we'll have to see where that goes -- but the term "showmance" was coined for a reason, you know.
Day 1 (Thursday):
The first day in the house was sort of a blur, likely due to the frenzy of the beginning of the game but also because of some personal issues I was dealing with. ((OOC: I became an uncle at 6:20 Thursday morning, so that's why I haven't been as active)) The first Head of Household was held on Thursday, and even though I looked for as many differences as I could, I ultimately came up short and made some sort of error that caused Chelsbot to think that I didn't submit -- although I do accept full responsibility for my error and chalk it up to my inexperience with this sort of thing. Assuming I do not get evicted next, I will definitely step up my game during the next challenge.
That being said, the results of the competition were interesting to say the least. I was glad that both Keesha and Natalie won, Keesha because I feel kind of attracted to her and Natalie because we formed a sort of friendship in the beginning of the game. The twist that we would be separated into "houses" was interesting and definitely took me by surprise, and even though I would have been fine with either house I was glad to learn that Keesha picked me to be in "Andraste." I'm afraid that people might perceive me to be weak based on my performance in the first Head of Household competition, and although I will understand if I get nominated solely for that I genuinely I hope that I do not.
Day 2 (Friday):
Friday was certainly a better day for me, mostly because I finally got my act together and started socializing with my fellow housemates. I talked to Jun a little bit more and she definitely come off as abrasive as she did at the very beginning of the game, but I still am not sure what to make of her.
Far more important was the conversation I had with Nathan, someone that I hope to establish a long-lasting (and hopefully productive) relationship with in this game. After making small talk, we started talking strategy and after I discovered that he wasn't aligned with anyone else (or at least, that is what he told me) I concocted the idea of sort of forming an alliance comprised of members of both the Andraste and the Brigantia house so that when/if the two houses come together, we will (hopefully) have a noticeable advantage. I think this idea might actually work out well given my prior relationship with Natalie, who is in the other house but who I still feel loyal to nonetheless.
Also on Friday I was able to talk to Sarah a little bit, who seems cool even though our relationship at this point is strictly business. We both basically agreed that we wouldn't vote to evict the other person if they were nominated, but this could prove to be a problem considering Natalie wants Sarah gone from the house as soon as possible -- I guess we will just have to see who Keesha nominates.
Day 3 (Saturday):
Day 3 was kind of a blur, and even though I did talk to a few people it was primarily people that I have talked to before and we didn't discuss the game as much as I would have liked. Of course, the big news of the day was that Jun won the Power of Veto which, in my opinion, saved her ass because I think she would have totally been the replacement nominee had someone else been taken off the block.
Day 4 (Sunday):
When I woke up on Sunday, I was immediately placed into some sort of conflict between Keesha and Sarah. I'm still not exactly sure what is going on between those two and I still don't know exactly what to believe at the moment, but right now I can't sway to one side or the other too much considering Keesha is the Head of Household and she could easily use me as a replacement nominee if I say something that she doesn't like.
But more important than the drama today was the fact that I finally got to talk to Parker, someone that I definitely seem to get along with well because he seems to be sort of chilled out like I am. At first our conversation was kind of general, but in time we started discussing an alliance. Right now the plan is for Parker, Nathan, and myself to remain a threesome, and then to get close to three other people on our team as well as three other people in the other house (one for each person) so that if/when the house "merges" we will have the majority of six no matter what. Obviously things likely won't play out that perfectly, but at least we are trying to cover our bases initially right now so that we don't have a lot of problems later in the game when it is difficult to recover from a bad Head of Household or something like that.
Unfortunately, on Sunday it was also revealed that Jun used the Power of Veto to remove Sarah from the block, which came as a complete shock to about no one in the house. Jun says that she doesn't have an alliance with Sarah and that she only did it because she made a promise to her, but from the sound of her speech given at the Veto Ceremony I got the impression that Jun also made some sort of promise to Lori that she was subsequently forced to break. I definitely think that Jun is playing the field hard, and even though I consider her a friend at this point, I definitely wouldn't be opposed to evicting her whenever she is nominated.
Yet even worse for my game was the fact that Parker was chosen as the replacement nominee by Keesha, which according to him was done because he wouldn't play Keesha's "mind games." To be honest, I am still not that worried about Parker leaving because I have already voted to evict Lori (who I have had little contact with) and as long as two other people do the same he will be safe. After talking to Jun earlier I was led to believe that she is going to evict Lori, so if I talk to Nathan about a possible three-person alliance with Parker and I then that will be the three people needed to keep Parker safe.
