This week’s HOH was a battleship tournament, which you would think everyone would have an equal chance of winning. But Sheila destroyed her competition, winning all 3 of her rounds and claiming HOH. The other side could not pull out a win, even though Parker had a free pass to Round 2 and Sarah was paired against Daniele, who has not been participating that much.
Daniele decided to forfeit her round to Sarah as long as Sarah promised not to nominate her. I was kind of surprised that she even asked Sarah not to nominate her, because she hasn’t seemed like she cares about the game lately. She said it would have been amusing if she was brought to the end with someone so they could easily win. No, it wouldn’t be! I don’t want to see someone inactive in the final 2. I want to see a battle between 2 amazing players. I like Daniele a lot, but I have been disappointed in her level of participation. I know life can get in the way, though.
Even though it would be boring, it probably would be a smart move for someone to take Daniele to the end. Natalie is realizing that now. She had said Sheila was the only person she could beat due to The Incident, but I think Sheila would crush her in a vote. Her best chance would be against Daniele.
I thought the Veto Competition turned out fun. It was stolen from Big Brother 9, but it was a competition I had never used before, and I thought it turned out well. Sheila quickly earned 3 points, putting her way ahead of everyone else. She seemed like a sure bet to win, but then Natalie tied things up. But then Natalie messed up on the tiebreaker, giving Sheila her 4th Veto win. Wow! She has won 3 HOHs and 4 Vetos. Plus, she got the top score for her house in the battlefield and jigsaw puzzle competitions.
I really hoped that Sheila would use the Veto to backdoor Daniele, just because I didn’t want to see anyone leave before an inactive. But neither Parker or Will talked to her, so she kept things the same. Meaning Daniele lives on another week.
Even though Sheila kicked ass at both HOH and Veto, the #1 standout this week for me was Nathan. Mainly because of his America’s Player tasks. He was a really good sport about having to do the tasks, and he was even able to use them to advance his game.
The love connection task could have been extremely awkward. The viewers could have chosen someone like Natalie or Parker for Nathan to have a crush on. But they chose Sarah and her bangin’ ass. Well, it was a tie between Sarah and Will, but Nathan chose Sarah. I thought he did a great job. He wasn’t just like “OMG I WANT TO MARRY YOU!” He started out slow, acting nervous and like he wasn’t sure if he should say anything. Sarah was flattered by it, which anyone would be. If it was, say, Parker revealing a crush on Sheila, then it would not be as flattering. I also loved the fan art Nathan made. I think that this task has helped to strengthen Nathan’s relationship with Sarah and it has helped the 2 to become stronger allies.
In Task #2, Nathan had to have a huge blowout with Natalie, and I couldn’t wait to watch it unfold! > I thought people would think it was weird that Nathan is saying things out of the blue like, “Put the headgear on your fat little face, you idiotic slob!”… since he is a nice guy and usually pretty chill. But Natalie bought it, and she was really upset about it. She IMed me about how she wanted Nathan to die, how she hated him, and how she was now alone in the house.
Then Nathan was able to save face by telling Natalie that he did shrooms to celebrate 4/20. Maybe it would be more believable if Parker had said that. Now Natalie is asking Nathan a bunch of questions about drugs, and she was telling me how she really wants to try weed. When I wrote this task, I didn’t think it would turn someone into a drug addict! Now I feel kind of bad. Sorry, Natalie!
I thought for sure everyone would know something was up after the Miley stuff, so I saved that one for last. “I thought since you liked Care Bears so much, you might like her too,” is probably my favorite line of the season. I also love Nathan's signature and the Hannah Montana bedroom. I am surprised that no one has made the connection that he has been acting weird ever since getting the mystery item. (It is possible that someone has, but just didn’t post about it in the DR) Nathan was awesome as AP and it provided a lot of entertainment for me and the viewers.
Sarah definitely deserves some props just for still being in the game after her move to kidnap Sheila backfired. But now she is getting in good with the 2 people she tried to screw over. She managed to stay completely safe even though Sheila is in power. Sarah has not won any competitions, but she is making up for it with a great strategic and social game.
I would like to see a Final 2 of Sheila and Sarah, because they have had a great storyline, from tight allies who kicked ass and searched for the powers together to bitter enemies after Sarah took Sheila as a POW. Now they are getting along again, but I don't think Sheila will forget what happened.
