The final HOH was a close race between Sarah and Sheila, but Sheila won her 5th straight HOH and sent Sarah home. I was sad to see Sarah leave. I think she played a great game despite the fact that she kept Nathan over Will. She was able to recover from her move to take Sheila as a POW and make a huge comeback. She played a great social game and had connections with several of the players.
Nathan and Sheila were a predictable Final 2, but still a good Final 2. I knew it would be fun to see the 2 biggest players battle it out. Going in, I thought Nathan had an advantage over Sheila, but it was not a done deal. Either way, I was hoping for a close 4-3 vote because neither of them deserved to lose in a blowout.
Random comments about the finale:
-I liked Sheila’s opening statement with all the pictures of Big She.
-I liked the Invisible Diane’s questions more than the real Diane’s. 3 “ligament” reasons?
-I liked that Nathan and Sheila fought for the win, even though they were close allies. They weren’t afraid to say why their game was better than the other and to argue with the reasons their opponent said they shouldn’t win.
-I’ll admit that this made me laugh: “But I do have bones to pick with both of you, and im talking like those little rib bones. God those are good the honey garlic flavors. Man Chi Chi loves those, sucking those bones dry.”
-It was funny that Sheila mentioned “You also pissed people off to the point where they withdrew themselves from an alliance with you (Natalie).” The fight with Natalie <3. Obviously, Nathan wasn’t allowed to talk about that, but it wasn’t actually an example of bad social gameplay. He was put in a situation where he had to bitch out Natalie, but he made the best of it and managed to make amends for the most part.
-Natalie mentioning that Nathan loves drugs and asking to be compared to a drug >
-Will is very insightful and I liked his questions. He made a good point that even though Nathan didn’t rely on winning competitions himself, he still relied on having allies like Sheila win them.
-Daniele actually had a good question, but she didn’t leave a reason for her vote. -_- I just hope that she actually read the answers to at least her own question.
The vote ended up being 4-3 like I had hoped. I got 3 Nathan votes in a row and I thought it might be a blowout, but then the Big She votes started pouring in. Then I had all the votes but Daniele’s and I was freaking out that she might not send one. But then she did and Nathan won by 1 vote. I think Nathan is a very deserving winner. Challenge-wise, Nathan obviously won less than Sheila, but he still held his own and won 3 HOHs and a Veto. He played a great strategic and social game as well, making him a triple threat. It is also kind of weird that in both seasons, the person who won the Big Brother Mini went on to win the whole thing. Will it happen again? We’ll see.
Who were the main standouts this season? Who deserves a gold star medal for their performance in Warzone, giving them a spot on All-stars? Here are some people that I think would be deserving:
1. Duh. She won 7 HOHs and 5 Vetos, and her face takes up like the entire voting history table. I don’t see anyone breaking those records in future seasons. She was also bitchy in confessionals and got into some drama on the board.
2. He played an excellent game that lead him to the win. He was very active and wrote great, detailed confessionals. He played the America’s Player thing well and was able to use it to his advantage. The season was always revolving around him and his alliance.
3. She won the $25,000 prize for being the favorite juror, so she is popular with the audience. She shook up the game with her move to take Sheila as a POW and then she managed to stay in the game when the odds were against her. She played one of the best games of the season, in my opinion, but then made an emotional decision in the end. She was a great character and player and would be an obvious choice.
4. Will was a lot of fun to have in the game. The Houseguests didn’t really get to see a lot of his strategy or his snarky side. He played a great behind the scenes game and had some good rants about the players behind their backs in his confessionals.
5. She started out Week 1 as a cocky villain, which lead to some drama as Sheila and Jun plotted to win the Veto and foil her and Keesha’s plans. Then she surprised a lot of people by making the top 5. She is crazy and you count on the fact that she will bring the drama.
6. For most of the game, I really enjoyed her and her confessionals made me laugh. I liked the food comments and the sex confessionals about her and Sheila. She was definitely one of the biggest characters. Also, I noticed that after she left, most of the drama died down.
7. He played a good social game. If he hadn’t been stoned for every challenge, he may have been able to win some and make it further in the game.
8. Maybe he didn’t make it far enough to be an All-star, but I do think he would deserve a second chance. I enjoyed having him in the game because he was new to ORGs and he was enthusiastic about the game. I think he could have made it a lot further than he did, and Sarah probably regretted getting rid of him over Natalie.
9. Just kidding.
I’m definitely looking forward to hosting Season 3, hopefully later this summer. I have already started setting up the board for it.
